Department of Training and Technical Education is entrusted with the responsibility of providing trained technical manpower for the technological up-gradation of industrial production, services, productivity and innovation, contributing to the planned growth of the country's economy. With a view to achieving the above objective, Department strives for systematic planning, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and policies relating to technical/vocational education.


With the stress on the planned and systematic expansion for appropriate industrial growth of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, particularly in the context of globalisation and liberalization of economy, this Department has made significant strides in the field of technical and vocational education.

(C) Industrial Training Institute (ITI)s offering Certificate Level Courses

Department of Training & Technical Education Delhi offers formal vocational training leading to issue of Trade Certificate or Diploma by Board of Technical Education, through 16 ITIs under its control.  To encourage the enrolment of girl students, there are 4 Govt., ITIs  exclusively for women, 9 coeducational ITIs have Special Wing for girl students and 25% seats for all coeducational ITIs are reserved for girls.  Entry level in ITIs varies from a minimum eligibility of 8th pass to 12th pass.  Admission to the ITI is based on the merit in qualifying exam.
